What’s Bonded Membership?
At the heart of FFC Swim Club is a unique ownership model: bonded membership. This means our pool is truly community-owned and community-powered. Purchasing a bond is required in your second year of membership and is capped at 240 issued bonds or certificates. When you become a bonded member, you're not just joining a pool, you’re becoming a co-owner alongside your neighbors and friends committed to taking care of a shared space and each other.
Think of it like purchasing a share in a community-supported agricultural farm (CSA). When you join a CSA, you're not simply buying vegetables; you're investing in the farm itself and helping ensure it continues to thrive for everyone. In the same way, an FFC bond represents a shared investment in the future of our swim club. Rather than being clients of a privately owned facility, our members collectively own and care for the pool together.
Here’s what that looks like:
Shared Responsibility – Every bonded adult member has a voice in shaping the future of the pool and can vote at our annual membership meeting.
Financial Stewardship – Your bond establishes your ownership rights and responsibilities as a member of our community-owned swim club, while annual membership dues help fund essential maintenance, repairs, and improvements so our pool stays safe, welcoming, and beautiful.
Sustainable Community – Owning a bond guarantees your spot in membership while creating a sustainable model that keeps the pool vibrant and community-driven.
This structure gives our pool and community financial stability, pride, and a deep sense of belonging. It’s how FFC continues to thrive, year after year.
Everyone Has a Role to Play
FFC thrives when members feel ownership, not just financial obligation. That’s what makes our community so caring and strong.
As a bonded member, you help build and sustain our culture by:
Caring for Shared Spaces – Encouraging kids (and grownups) to respect the pool, grounds, and facilities.
Pitching in Together – Volunteering during clean-ups, work days, fundraisers, or end-of-season closing.
Welcoming New Families – Spreading the word and inviting new members into our pool family as others transition out.
Help Shape the Future of FFC
We’re currently looking for new board members who want to be part of the team that keeps FFC thriving. Whether you have skills in communications, event planning, maintenance, fundraising, or just want to help make a difference, there’s a place for you on the Board or in one of our committees.
Ready to Be Part of It?
If you want more than just a place to swim, if you want a summer home filled with neighbors, laughter, and lasting connections, FFC Swim Club is waiting for you.
Come be a part of something bigger. Join a community where members are owners, neighbors become friends, and everyone plays a role in creating a place families can enjoy for generations. Apply for membership, meet our board, or reach out to get involved. We can’t wait to welcome you into the FFC family!
